Mad Science® is the world’s leading science enrichment provider. They deliver entertaining educational hands-on science experiences for children in every North American market and in 19 countries worldwide.

Mad Science was founded in 1986 by two brothers from Montreal, Ariel and Ron Shlien. They started at a local YMCA with a 300 dollar laser, and built up a very successful birthday party business in the Montreal area. They soon expanded into educational programs, and even providing edu-tainment for cruise ships. In 1995, the brothers decided to franchise their work and spread it out across the United States. There are now over 90 franchisees of Mad Science shows, and they have created a global brand that includes books and other products.

Mad Science has over 6 shows that tour nationally, and dozens of other educational shows that their franchisees can choose to present, including birthday party shows, school assembly shows, and other types of interactive performance and educational experiences. In addition, Mad Science custom designs exhibits for museums, amusement parks, and other educational institutions.

Their franchisee model is (to my knowledge) unique in the clown educational market.
